Promoting change: equip your organisation

EngageEquipDeliver

Engaging senior decision makers and colleagues is the first step in promoting change on disability.

The second step is to equip the organisation with the knowledge and competencies needed to promoting change.

Making it easier

Employers' Forum on Disability has developed a range of enabling products and services to make it easier to promote change. Our guidance sets the standard for best practice and has been produced in partnership with business and disabled people, to ensure that the advice is practical, reasonable and effective.

Some of the areas covered by EFD's guidance:

  • Promoting change
  • Understanding the law
  • Making adjustments for people with different impairments
  • Designing accessible buildings and premises
  • Welcoming disabled customers
  • Designing barrier-free online recruitment
  • Disability awareness training
  • Producing accessible information
  • Monitoring disability
  • Planning recruitment that works

Members of EFD have access to free or discounted rates on EFD services:

Working in partnership

Through Employers' Forum on Disability, the UK business community has created the largest business run and funded organisation on disability in the world.

EFD has circa 400 members, drawn from both the private and public sector, which between them employ over 20% of the UK workforce.

Many of our members are multinational companies who are working in partnership with EFD to develop tools which promote change for disabled people across global operations. We also have a growing network of international members.

Members of EFD come together to share problems, develop practical solutions and promote change for disabled people.
