There are real issues for shops and businesses to address if they are attract and retain more disabled customers.

Disabled people often 'walk away' and take their business to a competitor because of poor access and service. In some cases disabled people face real economic exclusion because the products and services they want to buy are inaccessible to them.

Disability confident companies benefit from improved reputation and word of mouth recommendation from disabled customers, who have a combined annual spending power of £80 billion.
