BUPA

BUPA's 'One Life Awards' recognise employees that have come up with the best, most creative business ideas to be adopted by the company, and those who have given exceptional service.

One of the winners was Ruth Nuttall, an administrator at St. Nicholas Nursing Home in Liverpool. She collected an Idea of the Year Award after championing the concept of large print invoices.

Peter Ludford, director for BUPA Care Homes, says: "Care home fees are often the responsibility of the resident's son or daughter. But with many residents in their 80s and 90s, and some over 100, these "children" are often in their 60s and 70s and may have poor eyesight themselves.

"Ruth came up with this simple but brilliant idea of large print invoices and these can now be produced throughout our 252 care homes."
